How to use preferences in SDB Explorer?

To use preferences follow the steps below:

  • Run SDB Explorer as usual.
  • Open Tools menu from main menu to choose Preference Panel option.
  • A Preference Panel box will be opened with two tabbed pane. One for 'General Setting' and other one for 'Advanced setting' .

You can use General Setting panel of preference panel for Pagination , and Advanced setting pane for proxy setting.

I. To use General Setting  for pagination :

  1. Specify the Result Per-Page from pop up list box it will set the number of item-rows that will be displayed in GRID.
  2. Click on OK button.
  3. Now you can explore any domain , you should be displayed only specified number of item-rows or less if you don't have that much items.
  4. If you have more items then the number specified in 'General Setting', you will be provided an active Next button to show next list of specified number of item-rows.
  5. And if you go next you will be provided an active previous button that could take you to the list of previous items.
  6. Thus you've set the preference to show specified number of item-rows.
In Advanced setting , if you select "Automatically detect settings", it lets you work as usual using internet connection.

II. To configure SDB Explorer for using a proxy server:

  1. Go to Tool -> Preferences .
  2. Check "Use a Proxy server" in Advanced settings.
  3. In the Address box, type the IP address of the proxy server.
  4. In the Port box, type the port number.
  5. Enabling the Proxy Authentication option will require each user to enter user name, password and domain.
  6. Click "Ok" to proceed.
  7. Now, you can run SDB Explorer as usual using proxy setting.
